FiveM Upvotes Explained: upvotePower, Burst & Ranking

What FiveM upvotes really are — upvotePower vs. burst, how the server list uses them, and how to read your own ranking signals.

If you've looked at the FiveM server list API or just wondered what's behind your ranking, here's a plain-English explanation of the signals that matter.

upvotePower

upvotePower is the cumulative upvote score of your server. It's the primary value the list sorts by — higher upvotePower, higher placement. When people talk about "upvotes" for ranking, this is what they mean.

Burst

Burst (sometimes called burst power) is a separate, temporary boost signal. It can give a short-term lift but doesn't replace sustained upvotePower. Don't confuse the two — long-term ranking is driven by upvotePower.

Players & activity

Your live player count and activity feed into how attractive your listing looks to someone browsing. A high rank gets the click; an active server count earns the join.

Reading the list

You can see every server's upvotePower live on our top servers page — it's pulled straight from the official list. Comparing your number to the servers just above you tells you exactly how much ground you need to make up.

Growing it the right way

upvotePower grows from real upvotes plus a paced campaign that adds them on a natural schedule. Combined with an active Discord that reminds members to vote, it compounds over time into a durable ranking.
