Discord integration
Also called Discord bot, discord roles
The link between a FiveM server and its Discord, used for whitelisting, roles, logs and player retention.
Nearly every FiveM community runs on Discord, and the server is usually wired into it: role-based whitelisting, in-game reports posted to a staff channel, ban logs, and announcements that bring lapsed players back.
The retention argument is the strongest one. A player who joins your Discord is reachable; a player who only connects to the server is not. Restart announcements, event schedules and update notes all turn into returning sessions, which is the cheapest growth any server has.
Technically the integration is a bot plus a resource that checks role membership at connect time. The usual failure is rate limits and token handling: a bot token in a public repository is a server takeover, and Discord's API will throttle a check that runs per-frame instead of per-connect.
Logging deserves care for a different reason — in-game chat and identifiers are personal data in several jurisdictions, and a Discord channel is not an appropriate long-term store for it.
