Can you get banned for buying FiveM upvotes?
Cfx.re can act against servers that manipulate the discovery grid, so the honest answer is that a risk exists and it belongs to the server owner. In practice, what draws attention is implausibility — huge instant jumps, figures that do not match a server's actual population — rather than promotion as such.
The straight answer
There is a risk. Any provider claiming there is none is guessing, or selling. Platform rules exist around manipulating discovery, enforcement is at Cfx.re's discretion, and the consequences land on the server, not on the provider.
We would rather say that plainly than have you find out from someone else.
What actually draws attention
Enforcement tends to follow implausibility rather than promotion in the abstract:
- A server going from nothing to a top position within hours.
- upvotePower that bears no relationship to the server's player count — thousands of upvotes and eight people online.
- Patterns that repeat identically across many servers, which is what a careless bulk operation looks like.
What reduces it
- Pacing. Delivery spread over days looks like growth. Delivery over minutes looks like a purchase.
- Proportion. A jump that keeps your upvotePower roughly in line with servers of your size is unremarkable. One that puts a 30-player server above a 400-player one is not.
- Actually running a server. Promotion that brings players to a server worth playing produces real activity behind the numbers. Promotion pointed at an empty shell produces a figure with nothing under it.
Making your own call
The useful question is not "is it allowed" — you already know the answer to that. It is whether the visibility is worth the exposure for your particular project. A hobby server with no investment behind it and a serious community with years of work in it are not in the same position, and should not make the same decision.
