ESX or QBCore — which attracts more players?

Neither framework wins players on its own. Both have large tagged audiences and players filter on them, so publishing the tag matters. What decides your numbers is how well your server runs and what it offers, not which core it is built on.

Both have real audiences

Players do filter by framework, often because they know the interfaces, the jobs and the general feel of one and prefer it. Both ESX and QBCore have substantial tagged populations on the list, which means the tag is worth publishing accurately either way.

What actually differs

ESX has been around longer. Enormous script ecosystem, a lot of documentation, and a correspondingly large amount of very old code floating around. Deep pool of developers who know it.

QBCore is newer, more opinionated, and ships with more built in. Many owners find it faster to get a coherent server running. Smaller but active ecosystem.

Both can run an excellent server. Both can run a terrible one.

What does not differ

Neither framework makes a server good. Players do not choose between two servers on the basis of the core underneath — they choose on performance, community, staff, and whether there is anything to do. The framework is invisible to them once they are in.

The tag is the real decision here

Because players filter on it, publishing the correct framework tag puts you in a browse view you would otherwise miss entirely. Every framework tag has its own live leaderboard on this site, built from the servers that publish it.

Servers that forget to tag their framework lose that traffic for nothing.

Choosing, if you are still deciding

  • Existing developer knowledge should dominate. A team that knows one will build faster and break less.
  • The scripts you already own — check compatibility before committing.
  • How much you want built in versus assembled yourself.

The thing not to do

Migrate an established server between frameworks for growth reasons. It is a large amount of work, it breaks things your players rely on, and it does not address why your numbers are what they are. If the server is not growing, the cause is almost never the core.
